uber Computer Update

Postby =alAmo=skeleton on Thu Feb 07, 2008 1:18 pm

Uber Computer Update:

I had to change out the Antec powersupply for a Xion one (Which actually looks much cooler and the wires are all bundled up in nice jackets). And I finally got my 2nd GB of RAM back.

I sent in my Bad 1GB Corsair Dominiator DDR3 1066 RAM chip back to Corsair, and they agreed it was bad.

Yesterday the replacement arrived, in a bubble wrapped pack, along with a 2nd Gb of ram. WOOT,,,, Not so fast,

I put all three GB in Ubercomputer and they didn't work. So I took the one out of Slot 1 bank one, left the other two in (1 in slot 1 bank 2 and 1 in slot 2 bank 2) and the 2 Gb works.

I don't know if Bank 1 slot 1 is bad, or the second Chip is bad. maybe I'll send it back and see if they send me another 2 Gb. :()

I really don't want to take all that stuff off the motherboard again, maybe I'll just settle for 2Gb.

I also made one last trip back to CompUSA and bought me a 3200dpi Saitek mouse. It is sensitivity adjustable and you can program buttons to do things in game. Pretty neat.
