Skel, I have that same TV, only th 720p version... it's beautiful. It was my present to myself when I graduated.

Custom Built
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 (O/ed from 2.4 per core to 3.3 Ghz)
3.00 GB of Ram
Windows Vista Ultimate
500 GB SATA 3.0 HDD
1 GeForce 8600 GTS O/ed 10%
500 watt power
SATA DVD burner
21" Widescreen LCD (Dell)
Logitech keyboard and mouse

The slowdown is my gfx card... After readong someone's post, I realized that I could have bought 2 GeForce 8500 GT in SLI for less than this card :/

beware of the ultra silents, they burn up like crazy, and the setting out of the box are those of a generation behind, so say you get the Geforce 8500, its like getting the 7500 only you cant overclock it, and i wouldn't tune your system or it will probably make it run slower. if you wish get teh card and buy a nice cooling system, the cooling system will last you through the next few video cards if your nice to it.

my system

AMD Athlon 3500+ 2.0 ghz standard clock, which means it runs about 3.5ghz in the Base clock, and about 4.3 with my overclock, 444 mghz FSB.

2 Gb corsair pc 8600, dual channel overclocked 11% heat sinks and fan

Geforce 7600 GTS 512 MB PCIE 16x overclocked 14% with a big block custom cooler

Abit Airpace wireless G PCIE 1x with modified antenna

X-infinity Case

300GB Seagate SATA HD 10K rpm

Windows XP professional Streamline with SP2.

1 internal CD/DVD RW Drive
and 1 external CD/DVD RW Drive

Dell 15 inch LCD - sad but true

Harman Speakers, Kensington Mouse

and the all important Mercboard Gaming keyboard. woot woot.

yea i just ran the specs on the 8500 its no better than like the 7600 only one runs direct X10 better so i think i might go for low end 8800 or mid size 8600.

no way in hell i'd run a card nowadays without at least a fan on it. obviously, W/C would be better, but a fan would at least keep it alive under stress.
