Actually skel I'm about to move to a new house. The new house gets Verizon Fios and since my dad's company pays for the internet I already convinced him that it is necessary to get the fastest package (15 up, 15 down). We got a computer with a bunch of movies on it and it is connected to the TV in the living room. Ill try to host a server for Alamo on it.
P.S.
The computer is new but not a beast will it be enough to host a server?
Also can I host one now? I'm not sure how much upload you need for a server.
Cryptic, It's really easy to host a server from home. I did it for two years when we were in North Dakota. Take a look at Xitami web server. It's free, doesn't take much resources, easy setup and maintainance, and not buggy like IIS, etc. I'd host one again if my internet was faster, and I had a truly static IP.
