Tips and Tricks COD:4

Postby =alAmo=Brate on Sun Mar 02, 2008 3:15 pm

This post will be the 1st in a series that will continue as replies called Tips and Tricks. I am hoping the COD:4 Regulars can share some of the little tricks they have picked up so that everyone can benefit.

My 1st and opening tip is going to be for anyone who likes to go prone in the grass.

The games "depth of field" setting makes going prone almost pointless because all you see is blurry grass in your face, but there is a way to remove this.

Step one go to options and disable Depth of Field

Step two play the game and marvel and your improved vision...

cool, gotta try that. As for my tips I just learned how to map your controls perfectly. Make your aim down the sights button the scroll up button. That way you have a nice transition from normal view to sight view. Result may vary. Also, try to move a lot. Never stay in one place for too long. Think like your enemy. If you are staying in one place, vary your position after every kill. Finally, go prone a lot. Nowadays this hasn't been working for me because they get a lucky head shot as I go down, but if your at a long distance and your eating lead, hit the ground, preferably behind something. Oh and get really good at timing your grenade shots because they are excellent weapons.

Accuracy

Postby =alAmo=skeleton on Tue Mar 04, 2008 2:59 pm

I'm not sure why this works, but it has worked for me.

After you get all of the marksmanship II challenges for a weapon done, you get awarded a Silencer. Every weapon I have put it on seems to be more accurate. For example, My M16, I would fire 2-4 Three Round bursts for a kill. After putting a silencer on it, I can usually 7out of 10 times - Nail someone with 1 burst, sometimes 2.

May be a psychological thing, but it seems to control recoil a bit. Try it out. (Even works for the little burp guns).

Hey skel, I agree. I have 2 silenced weapons and I think it is all psychological. Just like my zoom on the scroll button thing. It just feels right.

Brates 2nd Tip (no trick this time)

If it looks like a good hiding spot... it isn't because everyone else "knows" some one will be hiding there and be looking for you.

Keep on the move and keep a low profile, never run in a straight line if you can avoid it.

neat little tip
i just made this class
G3 red dot
3x frag
double tap
steady aim

now that is all well and good BUT

now go to controls and set you fire button to left click OR scroll wheel spin up (in other words have to set to both.)

make sure that grenades are ONLY set to G!!! other wise you will find yourself throwing them when you try this.

now spin the scroll wheel up to fire and enjoy your burst fire G3.!!!

Pistol TIp

Postby =alAmo=skeleton on Fri Mar 14, 2008 10:49 pm

Pistol Tip:

Pistol Jump is a serious problem with the Desert Eagle, Only your first shot hits, unless you have time for the recoil jump to come back (.5 second).

The M9, has 15 rounds in it, you can empty a clip into someone pretty fast with practice - You don't have to worry as much about jump, but yo udo have to hit the victim 3-5 times to get a kill.

My Favorite is the M1911 .45Cal. Medium Jump, 1-2 shot kills. Not very accurate though when Un sighted.

I can fire my 7 shots of colt and most of em hit what is in front of me. :)

or you can just play hardcore, and in that case every pistol to the chest is a one shot kill most of the time. you can hit anywhere on the guy with the Desert Eagle and kill a guy.

Don't underestimate sneakyness. I have a nice little class with a silenced MP5 and Dead Silence, and it's one of my favorites. If you think someone is near you, go crouch so they can't hear you and try to get the jump on them. If you can surprise someone in a close-quarters shootout, you will one almost all of the time.
